Scripture: Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 Peter 5:6-7; Psalm 5:1-3

Life Principles:
We can ask for God's help.
God cares about us.
God will answer.

Questions to ask:
When I make requests to God, why should I make requests on behalf of other people?
Why should I make requests for myself?
Does God really care about what concerns me? In what ways?
How can I be assured that God hears my requests and will answer them?

The Question: Why should thanksgiving be part of prayer?

The Point: Thanksgiving acknowledges God's blessings.

It shows you're grateful.

It recognizes God's goodness.

It reminds you that God provides.

Questions to ask:

In what ways does being thankful in prayer show a grateful heart to God?

Why should we give thanks to God each day?

In what ways has God been good to you today? Have you told Him thanks?

How has God provided for you today? This past week?

The Question: Why should I confess my sins? 

The Point: Confession leads to reconciliation with God.

Scripture: Psalm 51:1-17

Life Principles:

You need to acknowledge your sin.

You need God's forgiveness.

You need a fresh start.

Questions to ask:

What does it mean to confess your sins to God?

How often do we need to confess our sins?

What happens to our relationship with God if we do not confess our sins to Him?

Why do we need God's forgiveness for our sins?

Rock the Park Concert

Building 429 and The Letter Black will be in concert in Crystal Springs, MS on September 18.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 if money is paid by September 14.  Tickets at the gate will cost $15.  We will leave the church at 3:00 pm on Saturday September 18. Look forward to seeing you there.

Praise lifts up His name.

Praise declares His works.

Praise celebrates His character.

Praise recognizes His faithfulness.

Questions to ask:

How would you define praise?

What are some of the names of God from the Bible?

When you pray, how often do you call God by these names?

What are the benefits of praising God?

The Question: What if I don't want to be a leader?

The Point: Be a good follower.

Scripture: Nehemiah 3:1-14

Life Principles:

Be a team player.

Work hard regardless of position.

Work hard regardless of assignment.

Have a good attitude.

Questions to ask:

Why is it important for a leader to be able to be a good follower?

What does it mean to be a team player and how does that make me a good follower?

What should a good follower do if they don't like the position they are in?

How important is it to keep a good attitude as a follower?

What happens when followers don't work hard and their attitude stinks?
